Rhyming Mystery Bags

Happy Wednesday! Today we got to share our rhyming mystery bags. The children had a great time trying to guess the rhyming object in each bag. There were some creative rhymes!

Then we visited centers. Ask your child which center he/she visited today.

The first center played a Cat in the Hat roll and color game. This game worked on number identification and colors, as well as using comparison words, such as more, less, and the same.

The second center listened to the story There's a Wocket in My Pocket. Then the children at this center played rhyming bingo.

The third center made a Cat in the Hat counting booklet. Children at this center had to count the hats on each page and write the number. Then they had to use their knowledge of print to figure out what color to make the hats on each page. After completing the booklet, the children practiced reading the booklet to a teacher while pointing to the words with one-to-one correspondence. See if your child can read the booklet to you when it comes home!

We enjoyed playing in the classroom and working on developing our social skills.

After snack, our Altrusa visitor came. She read us a special story. Your child can keep his/her copy of the book at home.

We also did the counting jar in the morning session!

Have a great evening! :)
