Happy Thursday! Today's story was also written by Dr. Seuss. We read Green Eggs and Ham. There were a lot of rhyming words in the story!
We made our own Green Eggs and Ham art projects too! Each child cut out his/her own pan, ham, and eggs to glue together. After making the projects, we found two pictures that rhyme to glue on a strip. Look in your child's folder tonight to see the project!
Today we also visited centers. Ask your child which center he/she visited today.
The first center was a Cat in the Hat roll and color game to work on number identification.
The second center listened to the story There's a Wocket in My Pocket. Then we played rhyming bingo.
The third center made a Cat in the Hat counting booklet. Ask your child to read it to you at home tonight. Encourage your child to point to each word as he/she reads the booklet.
Then we played in the classroom.
After snack we did the counting jar.
We also read a book that had a lot of words that begin with letter Dd. The children did a great job of listening for words with that sound.
The morning class earned 5 more class BEAKS! We voted on what party they would like. The winner was a blanket and movie party. Watch your child's folder after spring break for a note with the date your child is invited to bring a blanket to school. The afternoon class also won a BEAK award today, but they need 3 more before they can vote on a class party. Way to go, 4K students!
I hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable spring break. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday, March 16th!
