Three Little Kittens

Happy Thursday! Today we learned the nursery rhyme of "The Three Little Kittens." The children heard many rhyming words! Check your child's folder for some activities to do together to go along with the nursery rhyme.

This week we have been reviewing the numbers we have already learned. Today we played a mitten memory game. We took turns flipping over two mittens. Our job was to match a number mitten to a mitten with the corresponding number of snowflakes. We worked on recognizing numbers, as well as counting with one-to-one correspondence. The children love playing memory games!

Today we made a mitten counting booklet. On each page, we had to read the words to find out how many mittens and what color mittens to place on each page. Each child also traced over the numeral on each page. See if your child can read his/her book to you at home tonight!

We also spent some time playing to work on developing our social skills.

In the afternoon session, we ate pizza for snack. It was a fun pajama and pizza party! Now we are working on earning 5 more class BEAKS so we can choose a different party to have!

After snack, we read the story The Hat. This story was also written by Jan Brett. The children were excited because we have now read several stories by Jan Brett, such as The Gingerbread Baby and The Mitten. Check your child's folder for a hat family project to complete together!

We also did the counting jar in the morning session. The children are very excited about it! Thank you for being so good about returning it the very next school day! :)

Enjoy the weekend!
