Touch Pictures

Happy Thursday! We started off our day by practicing our songs for the upcoming 4K Holiday Program.

Our story today was titled Lucy's Picture. In the story, Lucy's teacher asks the class to paint a picture. However, Lucy does not want to paint a picture so she asks her teacher if she can make a collage. Lucy spent some time collecting different items to use for her collage, such as a feather, twigs, sand, and fabrics. By the end of the story, we learned that she had made her special picture for her grandpa, who is blind. We talked about how he needed to use his sense of touch to help him "see" the picture.

We made our own "touch pictures" just like Lucy in the story.

Then we played in the classroom to work on developing our social skills. Several children chose to practice drawing Mat Man on the dry erase boards during playtime today.

After snack, we learned about the number 7 and made number 7 headbands.

The afternoon session also had a visit from Altrusa. We always enjoy it when our Altrusa visitor comes!

Have a great weekend! :)
