Three Little Pigs

Happy Thursday! Today we listened to the story of The Three Little Pigs.

We talked about all different types of homes around the world and learned that in some places, people live in houses on stilts, adobe houses, and even on houseboats.

Today each child made a pig or wolf mask. We worked on our fine motor skills of cutting and coloring.

Then we used our masks to act out the story of The Three Little Pigs. It was a lot of fun! Retelling stories is an important skill needed in Kindergarten! It also helps promote language development.

Click below to see sample sample recordings of us acting out the story! The sound quality isn't always the best! Even though retelling sounds like an easy activity, it is actually difficult for children. We need a lot of practice with retelling stories. I encourage you to read stories to your child at home and afterwards ask your child to try retelling the story to you!

We enjoyed playing in the classroom and working on developing our social skills. Several children chose to act out The Three Little Pigs during playtime too!

In the morning session, we had a special birthday celebration. Happy birthday, Jordan! Thank you for the treats!

After snack, we shared a few more of our turkey family projects. We are getting a lot of compliments from parents, staff, and students as they walk past our turkeys on display!

Then we practiced some more for the upcoming 4K Holiday Program!

Have a great weekend! :)
