Happy Tuesday! Today we went to the media center to practice our holiday songs again! We have almost learned all the songs!
Then we visited centers. Ask your child which center he/she visited today.
The first center used scented paint to make a scratch-n-sniff booklet.
The second center made a five senses headband.
The third center made paper plate sound shakers and searched for letters in the "I Spy" bottles.
Then we played in the classroom while working on our social skills.
After snack, we learned about germs. With winter approaching, there is a lot of illness going around. We learned that there are invisible germs that we can't see with our eyes. There are different kinds of germs that might give us a sore throat, an earache, or even make us vomit. We learned that there is a special way to get rid of those germs - by washing our hands! Then we practiced how to properly wash our hands. We learned how to scrub the fronts and backs of our hands, as well as between the fingers with soap. Did you know that we should sing the entire alphabet song to know when we should be done scrubbing our hands?! Then we learned that germs like wet places so we have to dry our hands with a paper towel very well so that there are not any germs still hiding on our hands! See if your child can tell you all about how to wash his/her hands tonight!
We also introduced the timer when getting ready for recess. The children have been working hard to dress independently and beat the timer. This is a great idea to also try at home to encourage your child to get dressed independently on days when you are in a rush to get out the door! :)
Have a great evening!
