Name Turkeys

Happy Monday! Today we started off our day by practicing our songs for the 4K Holiday Program. We were able to get out the puppets to use with one of our songs today.

Our project today was to make a name turkey. We did a lot of cutting to cut out the parts of a turkey. The children were excited to get to use the special "wavy" scissors to cut out part of their turkey. After putting together the turkey, each child counted how many letters were in their names and put that number of feathers on the turkey. Then each child wrote one letter of his/her name on each feather of the turkey.

Then we played in the classroom. The children were excited to try the turkey tumble bowling game today. There was also corn to scoop and pour in the sensory table.

After snack, we read some turkey stories and revisited one of our favorite songs, "Take a Feather."

We also read some stories about being thankful and talked about what we are thankful for. Each child was asked to think about something they are thankful for. When they come into school tomorrow, they will be asked to draw a picture of what they are thankful for.

Tomorrow we will get to make a pumpkin pie snack. Yum! :)

Don't forget to send boots, snowpants, hats, and mittens tomorrow! Remember that if there is ever a 2 hour delay, then there will be NO AM session of 4K. However, the PM session will still come to school.

Have a great evening!
