Happy Wednesday! Today's story was another from the Dinofours series. It was titled My Seeds Won't Grow!. The Dinofours books are great books because they lead to discussions about important social skills. In today's story, one of the dinosaurs is sad because his plant is smaller than the other plants so he switches names so that his plant is now the biggest. By the end of the story, he realizes that he did not make a good choice and tells his teacher about his mistake. We had some good discussions after reading this story.
We took a look at our Root-vue Farm to see if any of our seeds started to grow roots or sprout. The children are surprised at how long it is taking for the seeds to grow!
Then we visited centers. Ask your child which center he/she visited today.
The first center patterned petals to create a flower. Then we practiced writing our first and last names.
The second center used watercolor paints to paint rainbow Rr's for their alphabet books. Then they went on a flower letter hunt around the classroom.
The third center made shape flowers. Then they counted the number of each shape used and wrote the number on the recording sheet.
Then we played.
After snack, we reviewed letters and numbers while playing flower bingo.
Please remember to continue to send hats and gloves to school. A lot of children were complaining about being cold today. Spring has unpredictable weather so it is better just to send those items just in case they are needed! Thank you for your cooperation!
Have a great evening! :)
