Egg Hunt

Happy Wednesday! Today for sign-in, we worked on making Easter cards to give to someone special.

Today's story was There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick. We enjoyed listening for the rhyming words in the story. There is a copy of the story in your child's folder that you can color and read together at home!

We also did the egg shaker song! It was a lot of fun!

When Miss McCabe went to turn on the SMART Board to introduce an activity, a note from the Easter Bunny appeared! It turns out that the Easter Bunny visited our classroom, but could not find any baskets to fill. To solve the problem, the Easter Bunny left us materials to make our own baskets. We quickly got to work making our baskets.

The second part of the note was to search for eggs. We hunted for eggs.

When we opened our eggs, some were filled with jellybeans and one even had a puzzle inside! We had to sequence the numbers in numerical order. Once we did that, we got to fill our baskets with a few more treats!

We enjoyed playing in the classroom and working on our social skills.

We enjoyed some special treats for snack! Thank you to those that sent in treats! :)

Today was the last Altrusa visit for the morning session. The afternoon session will have their last Altrusa visit next week.

Since Altrusa did not visit in the afternoon, we reviewed what we learned about the pond and journaled about our favorite pond animals. We came up with quite a list! I was impressed with what the children remembered, such as a male duck is called a drake! Next week we will begin our spring unit.

Remember that there is no 4K tomorrow due to the early release.

I am looking forward to seeing many families at our family movie night tonight! Plan to arrive around 5 p.m. as the movie will start at 5:15 p.m.

Enjoy the long weekend! :)
