Pick a Pumpkin, Mrs. Millie! was the title of today's story. It was a silly story about a teacher who kept messing up words. This was a great story for identifying rhyming words! Some examples are dragon (wagon) ride, pet the boats (goats), and drink apple spider (cider). It was a very silly story and had everybody laughing!
We also listened to different versions of the song "Five Little Pumpkins" and talked about the similarities and differences between the two songs.
Next it was time for centers. Ask your child which center he/she visited today.
The first center made a pumpkin life cycle booklet.
The second center made a "Five Little Pumpkins" picture to display outside our classroom.
The third center practiced writing their names on the bumps of a pumpkin and counted the correct number of pumpkin seeds onto each numbered pumpkin.
Then we played. In the morning session, several children worked on their Big Pumpkin booklets since there was not enough time yesterday. In the afternoon, several children continued to work on their letter Pp crowns.
After snack, we shared our letter Pp mystery bags. There were some tricky letter Pp items in the mystery bags!
Remember that tomorrow is picture day! Don't forget to come to school with your smiles! :)
There will be a substitute teacher in the classroom again tomorrow as we continue with the PALS assessment.
Have a great evening! :)
