The story today was The Leaves Are Falling One by One. This was a great rhyming and counting story about leaves!
We also read a leaf color story. It was a little silly because the story had leaves of all different colors, such as pink and blue. We spent some time talking about the colors of leaves in fall. Are fall leaves really blue? Can they be yellow?
Then we made our own leaf colors booklet. As we read each page, we made the leaf the corresponding color. On the last page, we got to choose what color to make our fall leaves. Since the words said "fall leaves," we tried to make sure the leaves were colors that real fall leaves can be, such as red, orange, yellow, and brown.
We enjoyed playing in the classroom. Several children also chose to use eye droppers and watercolor paints to make coffee filter leaves.
After snack, the children got to play leaf number and letter bingo to review the letters and numbers we have already learned at school.
Remember that there is NO 4K tomorrow due to the early release.
I am looking forward to meeting with the remainder of the 4K families tonight and tomorrow for conferences.
Have a great weekend! :)
