Zebras

Happy Thursday! Today we learned about zebras! We read both a fiction and a nonfiction book about zebras. See what your child can tell you about zebras!

We reviewed the letter Zz and made a zebra Zz page for our alphabet books.

Today's big project was to make a stick zebra. We sewed together a zebra head. Then we added details, such as stripes, eyes, a nose, a mouth, and a mane. Finally, we attached some paper towel tube sticks.

We even visited the gym and used our stick zebras to practice galloping fast like a real zebra. Miss McCabe pretended to be a lion and tried to catch some zebras for dinner! It was a lot of fun!

Of course, we also played in the classroom.

In the morning session, we celebrated the birthday of Harry and Ollie. Thank you for the special treats. We hope you had a great birthday!

Violet's mom visited the morning class and taught us some Spanish. She will visit one time a week during the month of May to teach Spanish to the morning class.

The afternoon session enjoyed playing on the "big kid" playground and also enjoyed some freeze pops.

I am looking forward to seeing many families at tonight's Nature Night! Please arrive no later than 5 p.m. on the 4K playground.

There will be a substitute teacher in the classroom again on Monday while I complete assessments. Please continue to make sure that your child gets plenty of rest so that your child can do his/her best.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers. I hope you enjoy the weekend! :)
