Happy Wednesday! Today we learned about crocodiles and alligators. Do you know what the difference is between the two? Zookeeper Bob helped us learn the difference!
We sorted pictures by whether they begin with Aa like alligator or Cc like crocodile.
During circle time, we read both a fiction and nonfiction story about crocodiles.
We continued to also focus on beginning sounds by playing crocodile beginning sound bingo. Children reached into the crocodile's mouth to grab a card. They had to identify the picture, its beginning sound, and the letter that makes that sound. Then each child found the corresponding lowercase letter on their crocodile papers and marked it with a bingo dauber.
The children have been excited about cleaning our classroom during playtime. I wish I had such great helpers at my house! :)
We continued to celebrate some summer birthdays today. In the morning session, we celebrated Mason's summer birthday. Happy summer birthday!
In the afternoon session, we celebrated Gavin's summer birthday! We hope you have a great birthday!
At closing circle, we learned the song "Five Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree" and also read the story to go along with the song. Check your child's folder for some activities to go along with the song!
The morning session students also opened their chrysalis' and discovered that the caterpillars did turn into butterflies! There was a lot of excitement in the room! The afternoon session will open their chrysalis' next week.
Have a great evening! :)
