Ahoy Mateys!
Today we started off our day by cutting out the letter Xx and placing the letters on a map to show where our treasure is hidden. These "X Marks the Spot" pages will be added to our alphabet books. We are getting close to learning all the letters!
In the morning, we squeezed in a little bit of playtime.
We continued with the pirate theme today and read the story How I Became a Pirate. At the start of the story, children were asked if they thought being a pirate would be fun. By the end of the story, most children were not so sure that they would like to be a pirate for more than a day. We learned that pirates don't read bedtime stories, get tucked into bed, and don't have to brush their teeth! Most children think that they would miss those special things.
Then it was time to go to the auditorium to listen to the fifth grade musical. We practiced being a good audience, which means that we were quiet so everyone could hear and we clapped to let the fifth graders know what a great job they did. It was exciting to get to sit in the auditorium.
For snack, we made the letter Xx out of pretzels to eat.
In the morning, we also had some time to do the counting jar.
After sitting in the auditorium, we had some wiggles to get out so we enjoyed dancing to "The Freeze."
Remember that there is no 4K for the remainder of the week due to the Child Development Days screening. Enjoy the long weekend! I look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday!
