Happy Monday! We had another fun day in 4K! Today we read a silly story called There Was a Bold Lady Who Wanted a Star. Before reading, we made some predictions about why the lady would want a star. As we read, we heard a lot of rhyming words! The story was silly because the lady tried many different forms of transportation to get to the star, such as roller skates, a car, and even an airplane. None of them helped her get to outer space until she got in a rocket. Ask your child if he/she can tell you why the lady wanted a star.
Today we worked on shapes. Each child had to cut out a triangle, rectangle, and square. Then they glued their shapes onto the paper to form a rocket. Finally, we had to count out star stickers on our papers. If we were 4 years old, we counted 4 stars. If we were 5 years old, we counted out 5 stars.
Then we played in the classroom to work on our social skills. The children were excited that we opened up a new playtime center today - easel painting!
We made a special shape rocket snack today! Each child got two square crackers. We put them together to form a rectangle. Then we added some triangle cheese for the top and sides of our rocket. Yum! Thank you to those that helped donate supplies for this special snack!
After snack, we learned about the number two. We read a story and practiced counting to two. We clapped two times, patted our heads two times, touched our toes two times, etc.
To finish off the day, we made our number 2 crowns. Ask your child to tell you the number on his/her crown tonight!
Have a good evening! :)
