Planet Creations

Happy Thursday! Today we reviewed all that we had learned about planets throughout the week. Our story today was a silly story about some dogs that visited outer space. They traveled to each of the planets.

Today we got to create our own planets. First we cut out a large circle and wrote our names on the back. Then we learned how to use the watercolor paints. Everyone did a great job of taking care of the paints so that the colors stayed pretty. We remembered to dip our paintbrushes in water before getting a new color. Way to go, 4K students! The planets were beautiful and unique when finished! As the children worked, Miss McCabe asked each child to tell her about their planet. The children's stories were typed on the computer and will be hung up with each planet outside our classroom. There were some great stories!

Next we spent some time playing in the classroom. Playdough was popular today!

After a delicious snack, we sorted pictures on the SMART Board by whether they could be found in outer space or on planet Earth.

Then we played planet bingo to work on identifying shapes and numbers. The children are excited to bring their bingo boards home to play bingo with you at home! You can use Cheerios, m&m's, blocks, pennies, or anything else you have laying around the house as bingo markers.

Have a great weekend! :)
