Happy Tuesday! Today's story was all about Santa's reindeer. In the story, the reindeer were out of shape and Santa was worried about delivering his Christmas gifts. One of Santa's elves suggests using a jet instead of the reindeer and sleigh. However, when Santa goes to deliver gifts, he discovers that he misses his reindeer. The reindeer are quieter than the jet, have Rudolph's nose to guide the way through the fog, and help Santa to decide which gifts to leave at each house.
We made our own reindeer rhyming booklets today! The children had to listen carefully to the rhyme on each page to figure out which color to make Rudolph's nose. Take some time to read the booklet with your child at home tonight!
The children also enjoyed playing a number squeeze game on the SMART Board. This game helped us develop our math language, concept of numbers, and number recognition. A paper copy of the game was attached to the weekly newsletter that was sent home yesterday. This would be a great game to play together at home! They enjoyed the game so much that several also chose to play again during play time!
We also enjoyed playing in the classroom. Santa's workshop is still a HUGE hit! We are getting the giving spirit in our classroom! :)
Today we also continued to work on our top-secret gifts for our families. The children are excited about it! They are loving having their hands and feet painted!
After snack, we learned all about the number nine. We read a story and practiced counting to nine. Then we made our number nine headbands.
Please remember to send me any pictures you may have taken from the 4K Holiday Program! I was not able to get many and would like to work over the break on adding some pictures to a special keepsake project I am working on for the end of the year! Thank you for your help!
Have a great evening! :)
