Gingerbread Hunt

Happy Thursday! Today was an exciting day in 4K!

We practiced our songs for the holiday program for the last time in the media center. Next week we will get to practice in the auditorium!

Then we read The Gingerbread Cowboy. We found some similarities and differences between this book and the other gingerbread books we have read this week.

The children voted on which gingerbread story was their favorite. Most children had a hard time choosing their favorite version so we agreed that we just love ALL of the gingerbread stories we read!

Next it was time to get our gingerbread out of the oven so we could decorate and eat our cookies. Unfortunately when we got to the oven, there was an empty pan with a note. The note led us on a hunt all over the school to find our gingerbread cookies! We visited many classrooms and found lots of signs that our gingerbread boys and girls had been running around the school.

We did a lot of running, but we eventually found our gingerbread girls and boys! They were hiding inside the sensory table and had built a house to live in. There was a note asking us not to eat them so they could live in the house they built. And... we also found Jingle hiding in the sensory table with the gingerbread girls and boys. He had some cocoa, marshmallows, and cups for us. What a great snack - cookies and cocoa - and we realized that cookies and cocoa starts with the letter Cc! :) The children decided that they could not resist decorating their cookies. We frosted them and added candy decorations. Each one turned out to be unique!

Then we ate our cookies and drank our cocoa! Simply delicious! :)

We're not quite sure that we caught all of the gingerbread girls and boys. When you come for the 4K Holiday Program, you may find a gingerbread girl or boy of your own to munch on!

The morning session also got to listen to the story Gingerbread Pirates today.

Next week is our BIG week! We are looking forward to singing for our families!

Have a great weekend! :)
